The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced cash rewards for medalists at the recently-concluded third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. The Indian contingent finished with 48 medals in the continental event.
The gold medalists will get ₹5 lakh each, silver and bronze medallists will be given 3 lakh and 2 lakh each while fourth place finishers will get ₹50,000 each. Coaches of medal winning athletes will receive ₹1,00,000 each. The kabaddi teams will be given ₹10,00,000 each.
“The Indian Olympic Association takes immense pride in the exemplary performance of our young athletes at the third Asian Youth Games. Their achievements reflect the future of Indian sport and the potential that lies within our youth. The IOA remains fully committed to providing every possible support to nurture and develop this emerging talent,” IOA president P.T. Usha said in a statement.
