This special report covers a horrific accident on Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link, where a Honda car travelling from Worli to Bandra burst into flames after colliding with a divider. The report states that the car was travelling at high speed, which caused the driver to lose control, leading to the collision and subsequent fire. According to reporter Vidya, sources suggest the vehicle’s speed was a factor: ‘it does seem like, you know, the car was, you know, travelling to, at a pace probably, you know, a little higher than acceptable is what the sources are telling us’. All occupants managed to exit the vehicle safely before it was engulfed in flames. The Mumbai Police and fire brigade responded to the incident. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause, with initial reports pointing to possible brake failure or over-speeding.
