In a significant political development, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for a ‘one-on-one’ breakfast meeting at the latter’s residence on Tuesday. This marks the second such meeting in three days, following a similar engagement at the Chief Minister’s house on Saturday. India Today’s Senior Editors Nagarjun Dwarakanath and Sagai Raj report that the meeting aims to project unity ahead of the crucial Winter Assembly session in Belagavi starting December 8. The leaders are reportedly acting on instructions from Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal to ‘bury your differences’ and present a united front against the Opposition’s potential no-confidence motion. The meeting excludes aides, with Siddaramaiah attending alone to discuss the leadership tussle and government coordination.
