Updating Aadhaar Info Becomes Costly: Now Pay Rs 75 For Name Change, Rs 125 For Biometric Change – Trak.in

In a recent development, the cost of making changes to Aadhaar details such as demographic, biometric, or document-related, has been revised upwards.

Updating Aadhaar Card Details Will Cost More

When it comes to the biometric updates, it is required for the children at specific age milestones and it will continue to be offered free of charge.

This revised fee structure will remain in effect until September 30, 2028, as per the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

After this period, it will again undergo another review in the following month.

As per this latest update, changing details on an Aadhaar card will now cost more.

For instance, the fee for demographic changes such as name or address revised from Rs 50 to Rs 75.

Similarly for Biometric modifications, which earlier required Rs 100, will now be charged at Rs 125.

How Does  Affect The Other Aspects?

It appears that this is the first revision in Aadhaar update charges in almost five years.

The revised structure which was announced by UIDAI, will remain applicable until September 30, 2028, will cover updates related to personal details, biometrics, and supporting documents once an Aadhaar has been issued.

Please note here that the Aadhaar updates for newborns will continue to be provided at no cost.

So these revised fees are only applicable for changes to names, addresses, biometrics, and other details after an Aadhaar card has been issued.

As we already know that for some children, biometric updates are mandatory at age five.

It is followed by additional updates between ages five and seven, and again between fifteen and seventeen.

There is a especial facility for the individuals who cannot reach Aadhaar enrolment centres, now UIDAI offers doorstep services at a fixed cost.

For the home visit enrolment or updates, it is priced at Rs 700, including GST.

In case, several residents from the same household use the service then only the first person will be charged Rs 700 and each additional member will incur a fee of Rs 350.
