Meta is doubling down on Artificial Intelligence (AI), investing billions of dollars to future-proof its platforms. Under Mark Zuckerberg’s leadership, the company is restructuring its AI efforts with the launch of Meta SuperIntelligence Labs. To accelerate its push, Meta has recently struck two major partnerships—with generative AI lab Midjourney and tech giant Google.
Meta–Midjourney Partnership
Meta has signed a licensing deal with Midjourney to integrate its “aesthetic technology” into Meta’s future products and models. This collaboration is expected to enhance the visual quality of AI-generated content across Meta’s platforms.
Meta’s Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang called Midjourney’s achievements “true feats of technical and aesthetic excellence” and said the partnership will help “bring beauty to billions.” Midjourney’s expertise in text-to-image generation could significantly reduce content production costs while boosting user engagement.
$10 Billion Google Cloud Deal
In a separate move, Meta has reportedly signed a six-year, $10 billion cloud computing deal with Google. According to Reuters, Meta will now leverage Google Cloud’s servers, storage, and networking infrastructure to fuel its massive AI projects.
This comes as Meta disclosed plans to offload $2 billion worth of data center assets, a strategy to balance costs while securing top-tier infrastructure. The partnership also follows Google’s recent cloud collaboration with OpenAI, highlighting the intense competition among Big Tech firms to power the AI revolution.

These developments mark Meta’s strategic approach of combining in-house AI talent with external partnerships. By securing Midjourney’s generative capabilities and Google’s cloud infrastructure, Meta aims to differentiate its AI offerings in both performance and creativity.
For Zuckerberg, these deals are not just about catching up with rivals like OpenAI or Microsoft—they’re about ensuring Meta remains a central player in the next phase of AI-driven technology.
