Following a simultaneous launch across nine cities in India, Ramayana is now preparing to make its mark in America with a prominent reveal in New York’s Time Square. This development brings about a new standard for Indian cinema, showing its big scale and ambition.
With the support of Namit Malhotra, an eight-time Oscar winner and the creative mind behind global successes such as Dune, Oppenheimer, and Interstellar, Ramayana is more than just a film, it is a global event that takes a leaf out of Indian storytelling and features a team of world-class collaborators in every department.
The film boasts of a dream team, including Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, who is making his Bollywood debut as a music composer, AR Rahman, stunt director Guy Norris from Mad Max: Fury Road, and a diverse international crew of creators. This team is committed towards making India’s greatest epic for a global audience.
On July 3, the film saw a widespread official launch in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kochi unveiling the film in what was a grand moment. Today, the world will witness the same as Ramayana gets displayed in the Times Square in New York, with the film’s visuals set to be displayed on one of the world’s most iconic digital billboards.

Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Ramayana is set to be one of the biggest Indian cinematic events ever.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and the eight-time winning VFX studio DNEG, in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is being filmed for IMAX and is scheduled for a worldwide release, with Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
