The World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Level meet, which has been upgraded from this year’s Bronze Level meet, and the inaugural National Indoor Championships will be among the biggest attractions of the 2026 calendar, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announced on Tuesday.
The National Indoor Championships will be held on March 24 and 25, while the Continental Tour meet will be organised in August at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
The venue will also stage the inaugural Indoor Open Combined Events and Pole Vault competition in May.
The AFI has also introduced a 16-part Indian Athletics Series, from April to September, to encourage athletes at the regional level.
The domestic calendar will feature 40 competitions to sharpen the athletes in the build-up to the 2026 Asian Games.
