The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport, operated by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, has reported a remarkable performance in FY25, welcoming 13,427,697 passengers—a 14.8 per cent increase over the previous year’s 11,696,227 travellers. This growth reflects Ahmedabad’s importance as both a destination and a transit hub.
The airport saw robust domestic traffic of over 11 million passengers, complemented by more than 2.2 million international travellers. Record-breaking peaks were observed on 25 January 2025, with 48,137 passengers and 351 aircraft movements, surpassing the previous high of 42,224 passengers in November 2023.
SVPI Airport also recorded a 16.2 per cent rise in air traffic movements (ATMs), handling 101,119 aircraft in FY25, up from 87,025 in the previous year. The airport’s capacity was enhanced with five new parking stands and the introduction of a Multiple Aircraft Ramp System (MARS), improving operational efficiency.
The Ahmedabad Airport has also launched several technological and infrastructure upgrades, including cleaning robots for enhanced hygiene, self-baggage drop machines for faster check-ins, and the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Travellers Programme (FTI-TTP) at Terminal 2.
An extended check-in hall at Terminal 2 and electric shuttle buses for inter-terminal transfers further enhance the passenger experience.
Connectivity at the airport expanded with the addition of new domestic routes to Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Nanded, and international routes to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Da Nang. Increased frequencies to destinations like Delhi, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi cater to rising demand.
