Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has announced the inclusion of Dibrugarh as its 32nd destination and 26th domestic city in its network, enhancing its presence in Assam and deepening connectivity across the North-Eastern region. Starting February 1, 2026, the airline will operate three weekly direct flights between Dibrugarh and Bagdogra, with through-flights to Bengaluru via Bagdogra. Passengers can book tickets through Akasa Air’s website, mobile app, or leading online travel agencies.

Dibrugarh, known as the “Tea City of India”, is a vital economic, cultural, and transport hub for Upper Assam and a gateway to neighbouring states. The introduction of direct connectivity by Akasa Air will bolster regional accessibility, facilitate business and leisure travel, and strengthen the state’s air connectivity infrastructure.

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said, “Dibrugarh’s addition to the Akasa Air network represents an important step in advancing our long-term strategy of strengthening air connectivity across high-potential regions of the country. Assam and the broader Northeast hold significant economic and cultural importance for India, and improved air access is critical to accelerating the region’s growth trajectory. With this launch, we continue to build a balanced and future-ready network that improves mobility for travellers, deepens regional integration, and connects emerging centres with India’s key economic hubs. We look forward to offering travellers the warm and dependable Akasa experience that has become our hallmark.”This expansion complements Akasa Air’s existing operations from Guwahati, underlining the airline’s commitment to supporting regional growth and expanding India’s aviation ecosystem.

Akasa Air continues to differentiate itself through a tech-driven, customer-centric approach. Its young fleet features USB charging ports, spacious legroom, and onboard offerings such as Cafe Akasa. The airline also enables pet travel and provides over 25 ancillary services, including Akasa GetEarly, Seat & Meal Deal, and Akasa Holidays. Innovations such as SkyScore by Akasa, SkyLights, and QuietFlights, along with Braille menu cards, reinforce its inclusive service design.
