“A delegation led by Lieutenant General Shakir Ullah Khattak, Chairman of Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), Pakistan, paid a courtesy call with the Chief of Army Staff at Army Headquarters today. In addition to exchanging mutual greetings, they discussed various prospects for defence cooperation between two countries,” said the Bangladesh Army in a press statement after General Zaman met the Pakistani delegation.
Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) of Pakistan is known for manufacturing tanks, Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), assault rifles, and other security vehicles and General Shakir Ullah Khattak’s visit is the first such visit from the Pakistani side that explored defence production between the two sides.
Earlier Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Navid Ashraf visited Dhaka during November 9 -12. That visit coincided with the four days visit of PNS SAIF to Chittagong port.
“The coordinated engagement underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen longstanding ties and improve maritime collaboration with Bangladesh,” the Pakistan Navy said in a statement during the visit.
