You know you’re an extremist when you get yourself fired from the Trump Administration for your ideological dalliances with white nationalist fascism. But don’t worry, Darren Beattie, you’ll always have a home at Skyhorse Publishing! The independent publisher, which has made itself a safe haven for the putatively canceled—think Blake Bailey, Woody Allen, Garrison Keillor—recently announced they’d be publishing a version of the January 6th Report with an introduction by the aforementioned Trump flunky and straight-up conspiracy peddler.
According to this article at Mother Jones, among other execrable things that Beattie believes, is the idea
that far-right extremist groups like the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys included undercover federal agents who conspired with the government to orchestrate the insurrection.
It was all an inside job! By the Deep State!
On top of sex pests and abusers, Skyhorse (whose books are distributed by Simon & Schuster) also looks to profit from unhinged anti-vaxxers, cowardly plutocrats, and Sandy Hook deniers, so I suppose it’s not hugely surprising they’d tap Beattie—who’s still welcome on Tucker Carlson, after all—to drive sales of the January 6th Report.
What’s truly surprising is that Simon & Schuster still distributes these guys, and tries to pass it off as a mere business relationship, with no ethical strings attached. As senior vice president Adam Rothberg told Mother Jones:

My dude, c’mon. They publish Alex Jones. The guy harassed the families of brutally murdered children and you helped put his words out into the world. Not good enough.
