New Delhi: Rani Mukherjee is all set for the release of her upcoming family legal drama- Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. The movie, directed by Ashima Chibber, also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta and Jim Sharbh in prominent roles. Currently, Rani is busy with the promotion of the movie and on Tuesday, she stepped out in Mumbai for the same.
Rani was seen in a beautiful black saree with a white border and small white polka dots spread all over it. The most interesting part of the saree was that it features the word ‘Maa’ in bold Hindi, emphasising the theme of the movie. She paired the Chanderi Mul, raw silk net saree with a black coloured blouse. The outfit also had tassel embroidery detailing and was from the shelves of designer Masaba Gupta’s eponymous label House of Masaba. This statement piece of saree costs 17,000 INR.
Rani accessorised the drape with oxidised silver jhumkis, statement rings, and high heels. She also wore a mauve lip colour, darkened brows, a delicate black bindi, kohl-lined eyes, sleek eyeliner, mascara on the lashes, subtle eye shadow, a dewy base, rouged cheekbones, and a contoured face to complete her look.
Sharing a post on Instagram featuring Rani in the black saree, Masaba captioned it by saying, “Maa- The most powerful word to exist. Rani Mukerji in The ‘Maa’ Sportee Saree is an ode to her latest outing as Mrs. Chatterjee, a woman who fought a nation for her children • Inspired by a true story”
Speaking about the movie Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, the film is an adaptation based on Sagarika Chakraborty’s autobiography titled ‘THE JOURNEY OF A MOTHER’, whose children were taken away from them by the Norwegian Childcare system (Barnevernet) in 2011. It is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 17.
