Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday unveiled a game-changing Aadhaar app designed to make identity verification in India secure, digital, and paperless.
The app was announced on X and built in collaboration with UIDAI, the Aadhaar-issuing body.

“Aadhaar verification becomes as simple as making a UPI payment,” said Vaishnaw.
🧳 No More Photocopies at Hotels or Airports
The app is designed to eliminate the hassle of carrying Aadhaar photocopies or physical cards during:
- Hotel check-ins
- Airport security
- Retail store KYC
- Government services
Users can scan a QR code and get verified instantly, with facial recognition confirming identity in real-time.

- The app allows sharing only the necessary data, and only with user consent.
- Information stays on the user’s phone, not in the hands of third parties.
- No risk of data misuse from Aadhaar photocopies.
📈 What’s Next?
- The app is currently in its Beta phase and will soon be launched nationwide.
- Aadhaar QR codes will become as common as UPI QR codes, making verification frictionless across sectors.
This marks a big leap in India’s digital public infrastructure, taking Aadhaar from paper to phone, and empowering users with secure, fast, and private authentication.
