Weather Today Live Updates, Delhi-NCR Rains: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall advisory for Delhi and its surrounding areas, including Noida, Gurgaon, and Ghaziabad, as monsoon rains continue to lash North India.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are on red alert due to the risk of extremely heavy rainfall, flash floods, and potential landslides. Further, the orange alert in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir have been upgraded for today.

In response to the weather warnings, schools, colleges, and offices in the affected regions have been advised to close, with employees encouraged to work from home.

Further, the water level in Yamuna river crossed the danger mark in the national capital on Tuesday. Meanwhile, authorities have announced that the Old Railway Bridge over the Yamuna in Delhi will be closed to traffic from Tuesday evening.

Loha Pul will also be inaccessible from 5 PM on September 2, following a rise in river water levels.

Officials reported that the Hathnikund Barrage has released a large volume of water, pushing the Yamuna’s level to 204.94 metres at the Old Railway Bridge as of Monday evening.

For Delhi, the alert level is 204.50 metres, while the danger level is 205.33 metres. Evacuation measures will be triggered if the river reaches 206 metres.
