Ambani Tops Hurun Rich List 2025
Mukesh Ambani and his family have once again secured the top position as India’s richest, overtaking industrialist Gautam Adani in the latest M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025. With a staggering fortune of ₹9.55 lakh crore, Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, continues to dominate the Indian business landscape.
Gautam Adani and his family followed closely behind with ₹8.15 lakh crore, underscoring the intense competition between two of India’s most powerful business empires — Reliance and the Adani Group.
Roshni Nadar Creates History
For the first time, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, chairperson of HCL Technologies, and her family have claimed the third spot with ₹2.84 lakh crore. This achievement makes her India’s richest woman and highlights the growing prominence of women leaders in the country’s wealth ecosystem.
Billionaire Landscape Is Evolving
The 2025 rich list also reflects a broader transformation in India’s economy. Several newcomers have entered the rankings, signaling a shift in wealth creation from traditional sectors like oil, steel, and infrastructure to technology, healthcare, consumer goods, and digital platforms.
Notably, industry leaders like Cyrus Poonawalla (Serum Institute), Kumar Mangalam Birla (Aditya Birla Group), and Dilip Shanghvi (Sun Pharma) remain among the top 10, showcasing the resilience of legacy businesses alongside emerging wealth generators.
India’s Billionaire Boom Continues
India’s billionaire count has crossed 350 individuals, reflecting the nation’s robust economic growth and expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem. With the rise of technology-led ventures, financial services, and global expansions, wealth creation in India is becoming increasingly diverse.
Mukesh Ambani’s resurgence as India’s richest person marks a pivotal moment in this evolving landscape, while Roshni Nadar’s historic ascent signals a future where women leaders will continue to shape the country’s economic story.
