Former Indian Cricket Team Captain M.S. Dhoni on Thursday inaugurated the Velammal Cricket Stadium in Madurai. Fans thronged the airport to catch a glimpse of Dhoni.

One of the standout features of the Velammal Cricket Stadium is its best-in-class drainage system. It is designed to efficiently remove water from the field within 10 minutes allowing players to train and compete without any hindrance, the release said.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Dhoni said it was inspiring to see an educational institution investing in world-class sports infrastructure.
