The nomination of K.N. Shanth Kumar, who is contesting for the post of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) president, has been rejected in the scrutiny round.
Shanth, the Director of The Printers (Mysore) Pvt. Limited, is part of ‘Team Brijesh’, backed by former India cricketer and administrator Brijesh Patel.
The nomination of former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, who leads ‘Team Game Changers’, for the president post has been approved. The candidature of former India women’s team cricketer Kalpana Venkatachar — a member of Prasad’s unit — for president has also been approved.
‘Team Game Changers’ suffered a setback as former KSCA Treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya’s nomination for the post of Secretary has been rejected on technical grounds.

“This decision has been a personal setback, but it has not shaken my commitment or my resolve. In fact, it has only strengthened my belief in the change we are all striving for. My full strength, energy, and unwavering support now stand firmly behind Team Game Changers, ably led by our legendary cricketer Venkatesh Prasad,” Mruthyunjaya stated.
Former KSCA Treasurer E.S. Jairam and former KSCA Secretary Santosh Menon (both part of ‘Team Brijesh’), and former India batter Sujith Somasundar (‘Team Game Changers’) have been deemed eligible to contest for the key post of Secretary.
A notice signed by the KSCA Electoral Officer mentions that the list of candidates was scrutinised in the presence of Hon’ble Justice Subhash Adi and the candidates.
