With Lionel Messi set to land here on December 13, the promoters of the GOAT Tour made their way to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, the proposed venue of the GOAT Cup.

Parvathi Reddy, chief patron and advisor, and Satadru Dutta, chief promoter, with The GOAT Tour India were in the stands along with Christopher Flannery and Pablo Negre, Lionel Messi’s international tour adviser and personal manager, respectively. Dr. Rohin Reddy, who is part of the coordination committee, was also present.

The quartet got to take a look at the venue and also soaked in the atmosphere, with more than 10,000 fans turning up for Baroda’s clash with Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

“The delegation came to check the ground today, mainly the entry and exit points. They also discussed what programmes will be there in the event and other details, as well as the security measures being put in place,” Dr. Rohin told The Hindu.

Besides an exhibition football match, which will be kicked off by Messi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the former Barcelona star, who now plays for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, is also set to conduct a football clinic for a few budding youngsters.

Stars from the film industry are also expected to grace the event, with cultural programmes on the cards. The festivities are expected to end by 9 p.m, with the 38-year-old set to depart for Mumbai the following morning for the third leg of the tour.
