Air India, India’s leading global airline, has appointed The Aviation Management Limited (a TAM Group company) as its General Sales Agent (GSA) for passenger sales across Mainland China, effective 1 December 2025.
Under this partnership, The Aviation Management Limited will oversee reservations, ticketing, and marketing on behalf of Air India, providing comprehensive passenger sales services to travel agents and customers throughout the region. The collaboration aims to strengthen Air India’s presence in one of the world’s most important travel markets and ensure seamless access to its growing global network.
Manish Puri, Head of Global Sales, Air India, said, “We are happy to extend our partnership with the TAM Group into mainland China, which will help us tap into opportunities in one of the world’s most important travel markets. Their strong market knowledge and established distribution capabilities will support our growth plans, deepen customer outreach, and help us serve our customers and trade partners with greater convenience and confidence.”
The appointment comes ahead of Air India’s resumption of non-stop flights between Delhi and Shanghai (PVG) from 1 February 2026, marking the airline’s return to the Chinese market after nearly six years. The carrier also plans to launch non-stop services between Mumbai and Shanghai later in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
The renewed air connectivity between India and China is expected to enhance bilateral exchanges across pharmaceuticals, technology, education, and trade, reinforcing the two nations’ economic and cultural ties.
With its expanding fleet and upgraded onboard experience, Air India continues to modernise its international operations. The airline’s partnership with TAM Group, known for its strong presence and expertise in aviation sales across Asia, will ensure customers in Mainland China benefit from a streamlined and elevated travel experience.
Air India currently operates non-stop flights between India and major destinations across Asia, offering convenient one-stop connections to Europe, North America, and beyond through its hubs in Delhi and Mumbai.
