A 58-year-old businessman, was hit by a car while cycling in Gurugram’s DLF Phase-2. Family suspects a planned attack and demands a thorough police investigation.

A 58-year-old businessman, was hit by a Santro car in Gurugram’s upscale DLF Phase-2 area early Wednesday morning. The incident took place around 7:15 AM, while Jain was out cycling.

The victim has been identified as Amitabh Jain.

CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, showing Jain riding his bicycle along the side of the road when a Santro car suddenly struck him.

Family members and neighbours have alleged that the police are trying to classify the case as a hit-and-run, while they suspect the incident may have been a planned attack. They have demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision.

Police have not yet issued a detailed statement on the allegations.

In a separate incident, a 12-year-old schoolboy was critically injured on Wednesday, after a speeding lorry hit the motorcycle he was riding pillion with his father near Manicktala in the city, police said.

The accident occurred around 6.30 am at the Bengal Chemical crossing on Maniktala Main Road.

The lorry struck the motorcycle from behind, causing both the riders to fall on the road, a police officer said.

The boy has been identified as Srijan Dutta, a student of Bidhannagar Municipal School.

The driver has been arrested and the vehicle impounded, he said.

The officer said the minor is receiving treatment at a private hospital, while the boy’s father escaped with minor injuries.
