Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, who had recently created excitement among fans with her reported Bollywood debut in Sardaar Ji 3, is now rumoured to have been dropped from the project. The actress gained popularity in India post the release of her drama series, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. The film, starring Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, has not released any official statement, but speculation about Hania’s exit has been gaining momentum following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
The controversy stems from the tragic incident on April 22, when terrorists linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba opened fire at tourists in Baisaran Meadows, Pahalgam, killing 26 people. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, claimed responsibility for the attack. The aftermath reignited calls to ban Pakistani artistes from Indian entertainment, with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reiterating their demand for a complete ban.
As a result, rumours have surfaced that Hania Aamir, who had already shot some scenes for Sardaar Ji 3, may no longer be part of the final film. Reports suggest the film’s UK shooting schedule concluded in March, but with growing pressure, the production team is now allegedly considering reshooting her parts with a different actress. However, no official confirmation has been made by the producers or Diljit Dosanjh’s team.
This isn’t the first time the India-Pakistan political climate has affected film collaborations. Actor Fawad Khan’s long-awaited Bollywood return film Abir Gulaal is also reportedly on hold due to rising tensions. Hania, known for her work in Pakistani dramas and films, had previously shared the stage with Diljit during his London concert in October 2024, where the singer serenaded her with his hit track Lover, sparking excitement about their on-screen pairing.
While Hania, Fawad Khan, and Mawra Hocane publicly condemned the Pahalgam attack and expressed solidarity with the victims, the current political climate appears to be overshadowing these gestures.
