Jensi Kanabar beat Tsai-Jung Chiang of Chinese 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the girls final of the Asian under-14 Development tennis championship at the DLTA Complex on Saturday.
It was a memorable climax for Jensi, on a day of high humidity following rains, as she fought her way to a second successive singles title in the fortnight-long event.
The overwhelming success should fetch a place for Jensi in the Asian team when it travels to Europe for further exposure and development.
The boys singles title, the doubles title and the girls doubles title were all swept by the Koreans.
The results (finals): Under-14 boys: Junseo Jang (Kor) bt Kim Siyun (Kor) 6-2, 7-5.
Doubles: Junseo Jang & Kim Siyun (Kor) bt Komang Purustama & Ethan Frans (Ina) 6-2, 4-6, [10-3].
Under-14 girls: Jensi Kanabar bt Tsai-Jung Chiang (Tpe) 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Doubles: Seohyeon Kim & Yerin Lim (Kor) bt Tsai-Jung Chiang & Ka-Chieh Hsu (Tpe) 6-2, 6-0.
