Mumbai is likely to host at least one of the four playoffs in IPL 2025, with Ahmedabad set to stage the final.
The Hindu understands that the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials have been sounded out by the Board of Control for Cricket in India “to be ready for at least one, possibly the first two” playoff matches.
The original fixtures of the IPL 2025 had followed the convention of awarding the final and Qualifier 2 to the defending champion and Qualifier 1 and Eliminator to the losing finalist.
As a result, Kolkata and Hyderabad were announced as the venues for the playoffs.
The playoffs will begin on May 29, with the final to be played on June 3.
