This European Nation Offers Rs 10,000 Visa To Work Remotely For A Year – Trak.in

Croatia is an ideal destination for digital nomads who want to live and work by some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches.

The country offers a Digital Nomad Visa, which allows eligible individuals to live and work remotely in Croatia for up to a year.

Work Remotely From Croatia: Digital Nomad Visa Launched

Croatia’s Digital Nomad Visa functions as a temporary residence permit, not a traditional visa.

It is intended for non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who work remotely and are not location-bound.

The initial residence permit duration ranges from six months to one year.

Although earlier regulations limited stays to 18 months, as of March 2025, updates to the Aliens Act now permit non-EU digital nomads to stay in Croatia for up to three years, subject to future regulatory implementation.

What is the Eligibility Criteria?

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Proof of remote work via a work agreement or contract.
  • Business registration if self-employed.
  • A monthly income of at least €3,295 (approximately ₹3,34,215).
  • Private health insurance that covers the entire duration of stay.
  • A clean criminal record from the applicant’s country of residence.
  • Proof of accommodation in Croatia.
  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay.

The application process involves:

Collecting all required documents, with copies in both English and Croatian.

Submitting the application online, through a Croatian embassy, or in person at a police station near your residence in Croatia.

What Are The Visa Fees?

Visa fees vary depending on where you apply:

  • If applying abroad via a consulate:
    • Temporary stay: €55.74 (approx. ₹5,653)
    • Long-term visa: €93 (approx. ₹9,433)
  • If applying within Croatia:
    • Temporary stay: €46.45 (approx. ₹4,711)
    • Admin fee for biometric card: €9.29 (approx. ₹942)
    • Biometric residence card: €31.85 (approx. ₹3,230)
    • Accelerated procedure for the residence card: €59.73 (approx. ₹6,058)

After approval, you must register your temporary address in Croatia:

  • Typically within 30 days or six months, depending on visa entry conditions.
  • If you enter the country immediately, the address must be registered within 3 days.

You will then need to collect your biometric residence card in person, which requires submitting your photo and biometrics, and paying the required fees.
