BSNL All Set To Launch 4G Across India In Partnership With Tata Subsidiary – Trak.in

Tejas Networks, part of the Tata Group, has successfully fulfilled its ₹7,492-crore contract with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) by delivering equipment for over 1 lakh 4G and 5G sites. The deal, awarded in August 2023, marks one of the world’s largest single-vendor Radio Access Network (RAN) deployments, executed in collaboration with TCS, C-DOT, and BSNL.

BSNL’s 4G and 5G Plans

Following the completion of equipment deliveries, BSNL is gearing up to launch its 4G services in June 2025 — nearly a decade after private telecom operators. Once the network stabilizes, BSNL intends to upgrade to 5G using the same infrastructure, helping the state-owned telecom catch up in the competitive market.

Strong Financial Performance

Tejas Networks reported impressive financial results for FY25. Revenue more than tripled to ₹8,923 crore, and the company posted a net profit of ₹446.5 crore — a significant turnaround from losses in the previous year. Despite a ₹72-crore loss in Q4 FY25, overall performance reflects strong execution and demand momentum.

Strategic Partnership with NEC Japan

In a bid to strengthen its global presence, Tejas Networks has signed a strategic technology partnership with Japan’s NEC Corporation. The collaboration will focus on developing advanced wireless, RAN, and core network technologies, as well as a joint go-to-market strategy to expand international reach.

Expanding Beyond BSNL

Tejas Networks is also working with Vodafone Idea, supplying telecom gear under a three-year contract. With Phase 1 already completed, the company is in advanced talks for further BSNL contracts and is exploring opportunities like Rail Kavach — an indigenous train safety and security system.

Outlook: Poised for Continued Growth

With major contracts, strategic alliances, and robust financial growth, Tejas Networks is positioned to become a global telecom equipment powerhouse. Its pivotal role in India’s 4G and 5G infrastructure rollout underlines its growing influence in the digital connectivity ecosystem.
