Similarly, Flipkart’s Shopsy platform reported robust growth, with over 70% of app installs and orders originating from tier-3 and tier-4+ towns. Millennials and Gen Z consumers drove increased demand in household items, men’s fashion, and footwear, contributing to a 44% rise in repeat buyers during the sale. Shopsy emphasized its commitment to democratizing e-commerce by empowering local entrepreneurs and deepening access.

Amazon India’s Great Indian Festival also witnessed strong demand, especially for high-end electronics and appliances, supported by GST reductions on products like refrigerators and washing machines. Demand for premium products expanded into tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

According to Datum Intelligence, festive sales are projected to grow 27% to approximately ₹1.2 trillion in 2025. Consumer sentiment is rising sharply, with rural India recording a 54.7% surge in non-essential spending and urban India’s sentiment turning positive for the first time in three years. These trends indicate a robust rebound in discretionary spending, fuelling vibrant festive shopping across the country.
