Baahubali Completes 10 Years; Filmmakers Tease Fans With Re-release

Baahubali: The Beginning (released on July 10, 2015) clocks 10 years and fans on social media recall their magical moments. Starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati, the SS Rajamouli directorial is described as a game changer in Indian cinema. In fact, Baahubali, was the film that revived the pan-India film trend.

Fans get nostalgic

Fans of Prabhas and Rajamouli have been celebrating a decade of Baahubali reign on social media. They are reminiscing and reliving their experiences of watching the film on the big screen. The historical blockbuster not only scripted new records at the box office but also swept awards at many award ceremonies. The period fantasy was lauded for its directorial finesse, action sequences, splendid music, lavish filmmaking, opulent sets and of course, the lead cast’s performances. Baahubali: The Beginning was also a blockbuster in global markets too. The Prabhas-starrer was lapped up by the audiences in the US, Japan and other countries. Many critics and trade analysts compared the film’s work to some of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters. It was the beginning of the pan-India film era, and later many films followed suit, successfully.

The first Telugu Hashtag

#BaahubaliVasthunnadu (Baahubali is coming) happens to be the first hashtag in Telugu language on social media X. The filmmakers expressed gladness at the development back then and started posting messages in regional language (Telugu). The film’s blockbuster success at Indian box office catapulted Prabhas to superstorm. It also introduced a new wave of directors and filmmaking in Indian cinema. The film concluded with the cliffhanger, which trended nationwide creating curiosity for Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Baahubali to re-release 

The official X account of Baahubali posted an image that read, “re-release?” teasing fans and giving them a chance to relive their memory watching the film on the big screen. Many on social media have been appealing to Baahubali filmmakers to re-release the film for a long time. The makers announced that both parts of the film — Baahubali: The Begnning and Baahubalai: The Conclusion — will be made into one film and will re-release on October 31, 2025.
