Kunal Kemmu is set to star in the upcoming comedy-drama series, Single Papa, which will premiere on Netflix on December 12, the makers announced on Wednesday. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya and Neeraj Udhwani and created by Neeraj and Ishita Moitra, the show also stars Manoj Pahwa, Neha Dhupia, Ayesha Raza and Prajakta Koli in pivotal roles.
The makers unveiled a first look poster to make the announcement which features Kunal holding a box containing a baby boy as the other actors don shocking looks on their faces.
As per the makers, the series follows Gaurav Gehlot (Kunal), described as a “lovable man-child”, who decides to adopt a baby after his divorce. “The series promises a relatable, feel-good family watch, celebrating love, laughter, and a whole lot of drama, desi-style,” said a press release.
Speaking about it, Kunal said in a statement, “Playing Gaurav, who is figuring out how to be a dad, made me laugh, cry, and reminded me how much parenting is trial and error, and a whole lot of love. I’m excited for everyone to meet my cute baby and join this joyride with my Great Indian Family!”
Shashank added, “Single Papa is pure fun and all heart, and working with this incredible cast has been an absolute blast. I can’t wait for everyone to dive into the crazy, charming little world we’ve cooked up — complete with an unexpected dad, a whole lot of chaos, and an adorable baby, also the star of the show, who will steal every heart!”
