Being a travel enthusiast, I like to explore new places both near and far off for both a quick getaway and for long holidays. For my 2nd anniversary, my husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Taj Getaway Resort and Spa.
We stayed in a cute little cottage for 2 nights. The room gave us the feels of a quite, wooden cottage surrounded with a private garden where birds chirped in morning and monkeys came to visit the entire day.
One had to come through a little gate to enter the room. Our room had a cute little bench placed right by our private garden where we did spend a lot of our time. In the morning we had our coffee there and during the chilly nights, it was the place where we enjoyed our wines while all the forest animals made their presence felt with their various noises.
The room had a comfortable bed overlooking a part of the garden and a picturesque sitting where we sat and enjoyed the rain.
So every property has hilly forest on one side and most of them have the river flowing on the back. This makes Jim Corbett a great combo of both hills and river. We deliberately wanted to stay at a place which was on the river and hence went for Taj.
We were there on a full board package which means all our meals were included. For both the days, we really enjoyed every single meal.
We check in a day before our anniversary. The moment I got off the car, I could smell the freshness in the air. It was pleasant, we checked in and went straight to the flowing water. With huge hills around, wanter was flowing and we sat there for hours. And have to admit that we spent most of our time by the steam.
The property has the most courteous staff. They take such great care of you. From taking one around the property to providing you information about all the cool places around and serving you the amazing good, they make sure you feel special.
Also have to mention that as it was our anniversary, they made it especially arranging a little celebration in the garden and treated us to cake.
As we travelled just after the lockdown ended (in December), we were on toes when it came to safety measures but Taj Corbett Resort and Spa made us feel extremely safe. Everyone was wearing masks, there were safety kits and sanitize everywhere and the best part was that buffet was not self serve, the staff was there serving us so that nobody came in contact with each other.
We had the best time at the property, so much so that we did not even go for the safari
