Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hoisted a saffron flag atop the newly completed Ram Temple in Ayodhya, marking the formal end of its construction. The triangular flag bears a radiant Sun symbolising Lord Rama’s brilliance, the sacred ‘Om’, and the Kovidara tree. Calling the moment the fulfilment of a 500-year-old resolve, PM Modi said that the wounds and pain of centuries were finally healing, as the long spiritual journey reached its culmination. He added that Ayodhya was witnessing a new peak of India’s cultural consciousness, with the entire nation and world immersed in devotion to Lord Rama.
