Gujarat police have detained over 500 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in a massive crackdown. In Surat, over 100 illegal Bangladeshi citizens were detained, while more than 400 infiltrators were arrested across the state. The immigrants reportedly had fake citizenship documents and are set to be deported after a thorough investigation. The operation, described as the biggest ever crackdown on illegal immigrants, also saw the arrest of 457 men in Ahmedabad’s Chandola lake area.
