Pahalgam terror attack: House of terrorist demolished
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has intensified its action against the terrorists in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. The authorities have been blowing up the houses of those actively involved in terrorist activities in the region as they hunt for the culprits of the April 22 brutal killings.
They have so far demolished the houses of seven terrorists, including those belonging to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, in a clear message to the perpetrators of the attack, of the government’s iron fist approach in dealing with them.
Earlier this evening, the houses of two Lashkar terrorists were destroyed in Shopian and Kupwara districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The demolition of the residence belonging to another terrorist, Amir Nazir, was underway in Daramdora, Shopian.
While the residence of Adnan Safi Dar — a Lashkar terrorist who worked for its offshoot The Resistance Front — was demolished in Shopian, the house of Farooq Ahmed Tadwa was blown up at Kalaroos in Kupwara. The residence was blown up with a powerful explosion in Nagri Kot, Kalaroos.
Dar is an active terrorist and has been working for TRF since 2024.
The homes of seven terrorists have so far been demolished using explosives in Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Kupwara districts following the Pahalgam attack.
Among them were the homes of Adil Ahmad Thokar from Thokerpoora in Anantnag, Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh from Murran in Pulwama, Asif Ahmad Sheikh from Tral, Shahid Ahmad Kuttay from Chotipora in Shopian, and Zahid Ahmad Ganie from Matalhama in Kulgam.
According to sources, the demolition of houses of terrorists is a part of the Centre’s and J&K administration’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
All these terrorists belong to Lashkar-e-Toiba and are currently active in J&K. This move is seen as a stern message to local terrorists and their families.
Sources said that Farooq is currently in Pakistan and has been instrumental in creating trouble on Indian soil.
On Friday, the forces took down the houses of two terrorists suspected of being involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. While Lashkar terrorist Adil Hussain Thoker’s residence in Bijbehara was blown up using IEDs, Asif Sheikh’s house was bulldozed in Tral.
At least 26 people were killed in the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, sending shockwaves across the country and drawing global condemnation.
The security forces have since then been on a search operation across Jammu and Kashmir.
They released the sketches of the terrorists involved in the terror attack. They were affiliated with Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The three terrorists were identified as Hashim Musa alias Sulaiman, Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai, and Adil Hussain Thokar. While Musa and Talha are Pakistani terrorists, Thokar is a local resident of Kashmir, the police have said.
