Manchester United players Andre Onana, Diogo Dalot and Harry Maguire will visit Mumbai on May 29 to launch the fifth edition of United We Play, a grassroots development initiative by Apollo Tyres.
“We look forward to engaging with everyone in India to launch the new season of United We Play and promote our sport to the next generation of stars. We are also excited to see the fans over there, to thank them for their passionate and loyal support,” said goalkeeper Andre Onana.
In December 2022, David de Gea, Anthony Elanga and Donny van de Beek had visited Goa for the same initiative, which aims to motivate aspiring footballers by engaging with them and introducing them to global training methods.
“We concluded the last edition with the visit of the legend, Gary Neville. The initiative reached 18 cities, over 100 coaches and about 15,000 young footballers across the country. It was expanded to Kathmandu, Bangkok, Dhaka and Dubai,” said Rajesh Dahiya, vice president of Apollo Tyres.
