Rahul-Suraj pair enters the semifinals

The second-seeded pair of Rahul Baitha and Suraj Chand overcame 15-year-olds Lokesh Subramani and Shiven Agarwal for its second successive win in the men’s doubles Group-B match, and progress to the semifinals, of the National doubles squash championships at the ISTA Courts here on Wednesday.

Lokesh and Shiven fought back in the second game, lunging and diving to retrieve balls and took a 7-4 lead. While Shiven was aggressive, Lokesh was steady. However, Rahul and Suraj were far more consistent.

Guhan Senthilkumar and Ravi Dixit also made the last four from the group.

Top seeds Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar topped Group-A to make it to the semifinals along Abhay Vasudev and L. Meyyappan

In women’s doubles, all the top four seeds made the cut. In mixed doubles, the top seeds Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh reached the semifinals along with second seeds Velavan Senthilkumar and Joshna Chinappa.
