Bengaluru winter meeting from Nov. 1


The Bengaluru winter meeting, comprising 24 race days with an aggregate prize money of ₹13.84 crore, is scheduled to be held between November 1 and March 21, 2026, it was announced at a press conference jointly addressed by Ramesh Manjunath, ex. chairman of the BTC and Zavaray S. Poonawalla on Wednesday.

The minimum guaranteed stakes for the Bangalore 1000 Guineas, Bangalore 2000 Guineas and Bangalore Oaks will be ₹40 lakh each and for the Bangalore winter Derby ₹1.5 crore with Mr. Poonawalla contributing 30% of the above-mentioned stakes.

Furthermore, post GST 40%, the club had initiated various cost-cutting measures to combat revenue losses from the tote, which included a proposed reduction in the stake money.

To address this issue, Mr. Poonawalla has voluntarily offered an amount of ₹1 crore to ensure there’s no reduction in the prize money.

About 100 jockeys and 31 ‘A’ licensed trainers are expected to take part in the winter meeting.
