Borja Herrera netted a brace and Dejan Drazic scored another as defending AIFF Super Cup champion FC Goa qualified for this edition’s semifinals, thrashing Inter Kashi 3-0 here on Wednesday.

Goa took just over three minutes to break the deadlock at the PJN Stadium when Drazic struck home from a Muhammed Nemil pass after Kashi’s defender David Humanes slipped in his box.

The Gaurs doubled the lead after the half-hour mark: Drazic set up Herrera on his left, who beat Kashi’s goalkeeper Shubham Dhas on his near post on the volley.

As Kashi rummaged for ways to make a comeback, Herrera struck again: David Timor floated in a long ball from the back, and the Spaniard headed it in.

Earlier, NorthEast United’s high line cost it dearly as it drew 2-2 with Jamshedpur FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim.

The Highlanders took the early lead, off Chema Nunez and Alaaeddine Ajaraie, but Jamshedpur struck once in either half, off Pronay Halder and Raphael Messi Bouli, respectively, to end the contest all square.

However, Goa’s win meant both sides – NorthEast United and Jamshedpur FC — are now out of the title race.

Juan Pedro Benali’s men got the opening goal in the 20th minute when Nunez shot past Jamshedpur’s ‘keeper Albino Gomes after Jairo Samperio had rattled the woodwork with a powerful volley.

Nine minutes later, NorthEast United got the ball from back to front using five passes. Nunez then set up Ajaraie in the box, who scored with his first touch.

Jamshedpur’s Japanese talisman, Rei Tachikawa, then inspired the comeback: Pronay heading his corner and Messi Bouli scoring off his diagonal long ball at the far post.

All four teams will end their group stage on November 1, with the final round’s Group B matches now dead rubbers.

The results: FC Goa 3 (Drazic 4, Herrera 37, 42) bt Inter Kashi 0; Jamshedpur FC 2 (Pronay 44, Messi Bouli 89) drew with NorthEast United 2 (Nunez 20, Ajaraie 29).
