The IndiGo Airlines is set to recommence flight service between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada from June 1, this year.
In an official release issued on Monday, Union minister of civil aviation K Ram Mohan Naidu announced the resumption of the morning flight service by IndiGo 6E between Vijayawada and Viskahapatnam, thus improving air connectivity within the state.
According to the schedule, the flight will depart from Vijayawada at 7:15 am and reach Visakhapatnam by 8:25 am. The return flight will depart in Visakhapatnam at 8:45 am and arrive in Vijayawada at 9:50 am.
On the occasion, Ram Mohan Naidu said, “Regional connectivity is a cornerstone of govt’s vision for inclusive growth and ease of travel. The reinstatement of the flight link between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam will significantly benefit passengers, boost economic engagement between the two cities, and support the broader development goals of Andhra Pradesh.”
The Union minister emphasised that the newly revised flight schedule is designed to provide greater convenience for frequent flyers. He further underscored that govt is focused on improving regional connectivity, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, as part of the broader vision to enhance transportation infrastructure across India.
It may be recalled that IndiGo Airlines had cancelled the flight services on April 1 due to unknown reasons. After a two-month break, the air services are set to resume next month.
