IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, has announced the commencement of daily, direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou, effective 10 November 2025. Operated with the fuel-efficient A320neo aircraft, the new route reinforces IndiGo’s focus on expanding international connectivity and facilitating smoother travel between India and China.
The launch follows IndiGo’s recent reinstatement of flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou, making it the first Indian carrier to resume scheduled services to China after the pandemic. The addition of the Delhi–Guangzhou route now strengthens the airline’s footprint in East Asia and offers increased travel options for both business and leisure passengers.
The service connects Delhi, one of IndiGo’s largest hubs and India’s capital city, with Guangzhou, a major manufacturing and trade centre in Southern China. This direct connection is expected to enhance economic, commercial, and cultural exchanges between the two countries. With this new route, IndiGo’s network from Delhi now spans 21 international destinations, reflecting the airport’s growing significance as a key regional and global hub.
Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo, said:
“Following the successful resumption of our Kolkata–Guangzhou flights, we are delighted to further expand IndiGo’s presence in China with this new daily connection from Delhi. This new route from the Indian capital and our largest domestic hub will strengthen travel options and encourage economic and cultural exchange between the two countries. It will also connect Guangzhou to IndiGo’s vast domestic network of 90+ destinations, giving access across India to Chinese travellers. We are thankful to both governments for their support in restoring these links, opening significant opportunities for trade, tourism, and collaboration. As we continue to expand internationally, we remain committed to building such strategic air corridors that foster deeper regional connectivity and unlock new avenues for growth.”
The new route reinforces IndiGo’s strategy of expanding its international footprint across high-growth markets while maintaining operational efficiency. The airline’s expanding China network also complements India’s increasing trade engagement with the region, where Guangzhou serves as a gateway to South China’s manufacturing and export sectors.
IndiGo continues to consolidate its position as one of Asia’s fastest-growing airlines, offering connectivity across more than 120 destinations, including 32 international points. With the addition of this route, the airline further strengthens its mission to make travel accessible, efficient, and reliable for global passengers.>
