Akasa Air has announced a major expansion of its domestic and international operations as part of its winter schedule commencing 27 October 2025. The move, which includes new routes, increased frequencies, and the designation of Delhi as its third operational base, underscores the airline’s steady growth and commitment to strengthening connectivity across India and abroad.
The upcoming schedule reflects a 12 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in total departures and a 22 per cent YoY increase in Available Seat Kilometres (ASKm). This expansion builds on Akasa Air’s strategy of enhancing accessibility and affordability for passengers, while maintaining operational efficiency across its growing network.
Delhi will emerge as a key operational hub, with total departures from the capital increasing by approximately 56 per cent over Winter 2024 levels. The airline will now operate over 165 weekly departures from the city, connecting it with 12 destinations, including three new additions — Kolkata, Bagdogra, and Srinagar. Frequencies on existing routes to Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru will be increased to 4x daily, 2x daily, and 5x daily respectively.
The expanded network will connect Delhi to four of India’s five metro cities — Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad — along with eight non-metro destinations, providing greater travel flexibility for passengers.
Akasa Air has also launched operations to two new domestic destinations, Kozhikode and Darbhanga, broadening access across southern and eastern India. Kolkata will see an increase in weekly departures from 52 to 62, including two daily non-stop flights to Delhi and through connections to Goa and Srinagar.
Internationally, the airline continues to strengthen its footprint with new daily services between Phuket and Mumbai and Bengaluru. In the Middle East, Akasa Air will introduce non-stop flights from Abu Dhabi to Cochin and Chennai, expanding connectivity to India’s southern region and complementing its existing codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways. Departures from Abu Dhabi will rise by 14 per cent , while Jeddah will see a substantial 270 per cent increase in weekly departures to 26 flights. Services to Riyadh will increase to five flights per week.
Commenting on the development, Praveen Iyer, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said:
