Regional carrier FLY91 announced the expansion of its operations to 150 weekly flights during the upcoming summer schedule, building on its current network of over 100 weekly flights. The Goa-based airline also marked a major milestone by becoming the first Indian regional airline to simultaneously purchase two ATR 72-600 aircraft.
Having completed its first year of operations in March 2025, FLY91 has operated over 3,500 flights and carried close to 1.7 lakh passengers. The airline, based at Manohar International Airport (MIA) in Goa, has maintained a steady operational tempo, and its increased summer frequencies are designed to cater to rising travel demand.
The recent twin acquisition of ATR aircraft signifies a strategic shift for FLY91, moving from leasing to ownership as it eyes long-term fleet expansion. The airline’s first two aircraft were leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, while the latest purchase underlines FLY91’s commitment to a sustainable and measured growth strategy.
With the addition of its third ATR 72-600 aircraft, and a fourth set to join shortly, FLY91 is further strengthening its mission to enhance connectivity to India’s underserved tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Known for their fuel efficiency and suitability for short runways, the ATR 72-600 aircraft are integral to the airline’s expansion across regional markets.
FLY91 has also introduced hot meals and beverages onboard, available for pre-booking—an offering that sets it apart among regional ATR operators globally.
Commenting on the developments, Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO of FLY91, said, “The induction of our third ATR marks a significant milestone in our journey. More importantly, the decision to purchase two aircraft together is a deliberate move towards sustainable, dependable, and measured growth. As we expand, our focus remains on building an efficient and reliable network that truly connects Bharat.”
Currently operating under India’s UDAN 5.0 regional connectivity scheme, FLY91 serves routes linking Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, and Agatti to hubs such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Goa. Looking ahead, the airline aims to connect over 50 cities and induct 30 ATR aircraft over the next five years, expanding operations across multiple regional hubs.
